The Emirates Crystallographic Society congratulates Prof. Sharmarke Mohamed, a member of our society, and Prof. Katherine Mirica from Dartmouth College for winning the bid to organize the Gordon Research Conference on Crystal Engineering in 2028. This is a significant achievement for both Dr. Mohamed and the ECS, as the Gordon Research Conference is a highly prestigious series of focused meetings. We also congratulate Ibrahim Tahir, a graduate student in Panče Naumov’s Smart Materials Lab, who secured the opportunity to organize a Gordon Research Seminar in Crystal Engineering in 2026. These seminars are one-day events for students held before the main Gordon Research Conference. Congratulations to both, and thank you for your efforts in promoting the Society within the crystal engineering community
